And the First Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 convertible sells for $150,000 at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, AZ this weekend! All proceeds will benefit Achilles International and their programs supporting wounded veterans.

First 2014 Corvette Stingray sells for $1.05 Million

Rick Hendrick, NASCAR team owner, is no stranger to high performance automobiles. He is a regular at the Barrett-Jackson auction events and made an appearance this weekend as well.

The first 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray VIN #001 sold Saturday night, at the 42nd annual Barrett-Jackson auction, for a cool $1.05 Million! Who bought it? Rick Hendrick, of course. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan.

He also bought two other rare Corvettes, the 1958 Corvette owned by GM CEO Dan Akerson ($270,000) and the 1968 Owens/Corning L88 Corvette Race Car ($1M).

Hendrick is an avid collector. Some of his previous purchases include;

• First 2010 Camaro SS - $350,000
• First 2011 Camaro SS convertible - $205,000
• First 2012 Camaro ZL1 - $250,000
• First 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Edition - $270,000

 

UFC Camaro Brings in $350,000 for Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund

Great news!  The UFC Camaro auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson this weekend brought $350,000!

One of the hottest cars ever made, the custom UFC Camaro, just sold for $350,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event in Las Vegas, Nev., with all funds benefitting the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.
UFC President Dana White, who is in Indianapolis this weekend for the UFC 119: Mir vs Cro Cop Pay-Per-View event, tweeted, "Thank you to all the bidders on the UFC Camaro!! It went for $350k!!! That money goes to the troops. So amazing!!! I LOVE UFC fans."

The Ultimate Fighting Championship® teamed up with Findlay Customs and Modern Muscle Las Vegas to build the limited-edition UFC Camaro complete with 650 super-charged horsepower and one-of-a-kind features including custom exhaust, lowering suspension kit, 2000-watt sound system, custom paint and UFC fight glove seats with suede headliner.

The UFC Camaro crossed the Barrett-Jackson block during prime time at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center today, and was driven by none other than UFC Hall of Famer Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell.
The family of the winning bid, who ultimately paid $350,000 for the custom sports car, admitted to auction officials that they are huge UFC fans, and are thrilled with their collectible UFC Camaro.

The $350,000 for the UFC Camaro will benefit the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing support for the families of United States military personnel injured or lost in performance of their duty. Likewise, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund works to assist our wounded warriors by providing facilities and services that ensure that injured military personnel receive the best possible treatment our nation has to offer.

The fine Camaro enthusiasts from NEOCC (NorthEast Ohio Camaro Club) are holding CHARITY ebay auctions for some 'upgrades' for the 2010 Camaro.

These are brand new GM parts and were on display at the NEOCC Camaro Fall Classic and F-Body Summit ’09 held at Summit Racing Equipment last month.

100% of the proceeds from these auctions will go to Aluminum Cans for Burned Children (ACBC) at Akron Children's Hospital. The NEOCC has been involved with ACBC for nine (9) years and is proud to be affiliated with this wonderful program which raises money to help burn victims with medical needs, as well as camps and other activities to help children and their families deal with their, sometimes, life altering injuries. Again, 100% of the proceeds from these auctions will be benefiting ACBC and is considered a donation purchase. A tax form stating the donation will be sent to the winner.

SEMA: HURST Camaro to be auctioned off

Irvine, Calif. (September 17, 2009) – SEMA, in cooperation with General Motors and Hurst Performance Vehicles, announced today that it will auction the first pre-production HURST/Camaro prior to the 2009 SEMA Show. The proceeds are to benefit the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund, a program that fosters industry leadership by supporting the education of students pursuing careers in the automotive aftermarket.

The car will be auctioned on eBay Motors during the two weeks prior to the show.
